To Fall in Love with Frank

We all go through a time in our lives when we fall in love. It might be knew love, it might be old love, it might be rekindled love. Well, I have a NEW love and his name is Frank! (Don’t tell my hubby!) Franks real name is Frankincense and let me tell you his story.

Frankincense essential oil (Boswellia carterii) is considered a holy oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years and was one of the gifts given to Christ at his birth. Frankincense is mentioned in the Ebers Papyrus, an ancient Egyptian scroll from approximately 1500 BCE, that documents its use. I just love the history of Frank, it truly warms my heart to know that that this oil was given to my Savior at his birth. Every time I diffuse Frank or use topically the sweet aroma grounds me to my God.
Frankincense is derived from the gummy sap that oozes out of the Boswellia trees, respectively, when their bark is cut. The leaking resin is allowed to harden and then scraped off the trunk in tear-shaped droplets; it may then be used in its dried form or steamed to yield essential oils. It is edible and often chewed like gum. It is also extremely fragrant, particularly when burned or diffused. 5324015063_905550e980_z
